Fire crews in northern Indiana responded to a semi-truck fire that left a trailer and its cargo burned to a crisp. The incident happened in Kosciusko County, on April 8.
According to a post from the Silver Lake Volunteer Fire Department, crews were called out to a semi-truck that caught on fire. The Burket Fire Department also responded to assist in extinguishing the flames.
The truck was hauling a trailer full of eggs, and the damage was severe. Photos shared by the department show the back half of the trailer completely burned out, with the structure heavily compromised and much of it appearing to have disintegrated from the heat.
The cargo didn’t stand a chance. The eggs inside the trailer were destroyed as the fire tore through the rear portion of the load. It was reported that over 200,000 eggs were lost in the blaze.
The fire department shared photos from the scene on Facebook, and confirmed that the driver sustained no injuries. It is believed that the brakes were the cause of the fire.
