WATCH: Exploding Semis Cause 2 Deaths in Florida

An explosion and fire in Medley, Florida left 2 people dead and 3 others injured.

According to CBS News, the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue received a call about the explosion at the business located in an industrial area at around 8:40 a.m. on February 21. The incident was captured on a Ring video camera, showing a huge column of fire erupting from the welding shop. Helicopter footage also showed the ferocious flames coming from several semi-trucks and vehicles on fire.

Fire crews arrived on the scene to find several vehicles and the back and undercarriage of the semi-truck fully engulfed in flames. Miami-Dade Police told reporters, “Unfortunately, the explosion resulted in several injuries, leaving two people diseased, transported to trauma center and another 2 in critical condition at the hospital.”

The Miami-Dade Police Department’s Homicide Bureau and the arson unit are investigating the incident to try and find out what caused the explosion. Meanwhile, the fire department declared the area surrounding the fire as a hazardous scene.

The injured were taken to the trauma center and treated for their injuries. The victims have not yet been identified.
