This holiday heroic stunt sounds like something straight out of a Fast & Furious movie!
According to KWCH, a truck driver traveling on I-70 through Kansas lost consciousness behind the wheel. His 18-wheeler veered off-road into the median where it continued to drive out of control. Brent Ginther and his son Brady were driving in the same direction on I-70 when they came up on the runaway semi. Once they saw the trucker needed help, they leaped into action.
Brady jumped from he and his father’s truck to the big rig and tried to get inside. After discovering the passenger door was locked, Brady used a hammer to break the window so he could crawl inside. Thankfully, they were able to stop the truck one-eighth of a mile before a 30-foot drop
A Facebook post by Sherman County KS Sheriff’s Office outlined the whole incident:
“This action more than likely saved the life of the truck driver along with protecting all the other travelers on I-70 and Highway 27,” said Sheriff Burton Pianalto in the post. “It is amazing what people will do to help others they do not know. Thank you to Brent Ginther and his son Brady for your heroic actions. Our community is incredibly grateful!”
