“You are America’s unsung heroes!”
That was ‘Jeopardy!’ champion Brian Henegar’s message to truck drivers in a recent interview with Transport Drive. Henegar is an employee at a Pilot Flying J truck stop in Knoxville, Tennessee. In April, he competed on ‘Jeopardy!’ and became a three-day champion. During the third episode of the champion’s reign, the game show’s host Ken Jennings asked Henegar to tell viewers about his job. This was when the took the opportunity to shout out truckers as “the people that keep this country moving.”
‘Jeopardy!’ host Ken Jennings also showed his respect for truckers, as he called them the “kings of the road.”
“When you work at Pilot, you realize how important truck drivers are to this country. I wanted to make sure that they got a shoutout,” Henegar told Transport Drive. “Because without them, I wouldn’t have a job, and we wouldn’t have a country.”
When asked why he took the time on-air to recognize truckers, Hanegar said, “I know how difficult of a job it can be, and they don’t get the kind of love they deserve, so I’ve always had a lot of respect for what they do.”
