Latest Update in the Search for Missing Trucker

The latest update in the search for missing trucker David Schultz includes an increased reward for information.

The 53-year old trucker, husband, and father was last seen in Sac City, Iowa on November 21, 2023. For the past few months, investigators have been working tirelessly to find any new clues that may lead to him. So far, they’ve acquired security footage of him at an Iowa truck stop, interviewed employees at his last pick-up location, and retrieved cell phone data that confirmed he headed west on Highway 20 before disappearing.

Now, according to the Sioux City Journal, the Sac County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted to offer a reward of $25,000 to anyone with information leading to Schultz. The reward is not currently available, as there are some legal hoops that need to be jumped through, but the board is working diligently to prepare it.

In the meantime, the Sac County Attorney is asking the public to be understanding of how hard investigators are working to find Schultz. “”I know probably about six or seven officers and investigators that didn’t have a Thanksgiving. They were working on this the whole time. I was one of them,” he told Sioux City Journal. “The same for Christmas, a lot of time that normally would be spent with families, was spent expending extra hours in searching, trying to find David.”

Anyone with any helpful information is being asked to contact the Sac County Sheriff’s Office at 712-662-7127.
