Two individuals lost their lives in a tragic accident after two tires came loose from an axle on a trailer and collided with their van.
WHIO reported the fatal crash occurred on June 12 around 11 a.m. The semi was driving southbound on I-75 in Miami County, Ohio when two tires came loose from its trailer. They flew over the median and bounced a Dodge minivan that was traveling northbound. After swiping the minivan, the tires collided with a Chevrolet van head-on to kill the driver and front passenger. There were three other passengers in the back, but only faced non-life threatening injuries.
The semi truck driver was located later, and it is unclear if he knew the tires came off his trailer.
This tragedy is a solemn reminder take pre-trips seriously and always double check everything. Stay safe out there, drivers.
