Brooks Keebey, 82, used to be a fuel truck driver before retiring in Salem, Oregon. Thanks to his lucky ticket, his retirement just got even sweeter.
According to Fox 12 Oregon, the former trucker spent $10 on Powerball tickets on November 7, since he noticed the jackpot prize growing bigger and bigger. He bought them just for fun in case he got lucky. Little did he know when he scanned the ticket at his local store, that he’d be a $1 million prize winner.
In fact, Keebey was just one number off from winning the $2 billion Powerball. The retired trucker didn’t seem too bothered by that though, saying “I’m not greedy,” to reporters.
When asked how he planned to spend his winnings, Keebey said he planned on buying his wife a Cadillac, paying property taxes, and saving the rest for the remainder of his retirement.
