Tierra Allen, aka the “Sassy Trucker” is an trucker influencer popular on TikTok and YouTube. She gained popularity by sharing her experiences as a female truck driver. Her online presence has allowed her to connect with fellow truckers, share advice, and entertain drivers nationwide. That is, until she was arrested and detained in Dubai in May.
According to Newsweek, Allen was arrested for yelling at a car rental employee. The man claimed that she “slandered and defamed” him, which led to Dubai police officers arresting her and confiscating her passport.

Allen worked with Detained in Dubai, an organization that helps travelers who get arrested in the foreign city, to negotiate the terms of her release. In order to return to the United States, Allen paid a fee of $1,361 (5,000 dirham in Dubai) and is barred from traveling back to Dubai.
“Tierra Allen boarded a flight home to the United States today [Tuesday, August 8] after police lifted her travel ban. She nearly didn’t make it through airport immigration and thought she would be jailed, but all worked out and Tierra is now relieved her nightmare has come to an end,” Detained in Dubai told reporters.
