Semi Flips on Pickup, Trapping Two

Semi Flips on Pickup, Trapping Two

According to Long Beach Post, an accident on the northbound 710 Freeway  in Long Beach, California, left a semi-truck overturned onto a Chevrolet pickup truck, trapping two individuals inside.

The collision happened shortly after 1:50 p.m. on January 2 when one of the vehicles changed lanes, leading to the crash.

Long Beach Fire Department crews responded promptly, finding the pickup truck pinned under the semi-truck. Firefighters quickly freed one person and then called in a heavy wrecker tow truck to assist with the second rescue. The two people were soon taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash initially blocked all lanes of the freeway for approximately 30 minutes, causing significant traffic backups. The leftmost lane reopened around 2:35 p.m., and all lanes were cleared by 6 p.m.
