A massive wreck with a semi-truck left a train derailed in Illinois last week. No injuries were reported, but the area was littered with coal from the train.
According to WSIL, the accident occurred on October 8 at 5:42 p.m. Authorities were notified and arrived on the scene, where they found the truck driver out of his vehicle. Emergency crews reported the tractor trailer was on fire when they arrived, but the diesel fuel tanks held up and there was no explosion.
The train conductor was also uninjured. The railroad company called in teams from St. Louis to remove debris, and clean-up was expected to take a couple days.
