A semi-truck crash caused chaos on Montvale Avenue near Interstate 93 in Massachusetts this week. The accident caused power outages and trapped numerous vehicles.
According to Boston 25 News, emergency services received multiple 911 calls about the accident, which left 7 utility poles on the road and damaged power lines. A UPS driver who was right just behind the truck watched the poles fall one after another.
“It pulled down one telephone pole, which pulled down the next one, pulled down the next one,” the driver told Boston 25 News. “I knew I was going to get hit by one of the poles. Luckily it was the back end of the truck, not the front.”
Fortunately, nobody was injured in the incident, and the driver of the 18-wheeler managed to get out of the vehicle safely. “Sparks are flying all over the place,” he said. “So that was concerning.”
Office buildings and apartments in the area were left without power for most of the afternoon, and morning commute traffic was affected.
