On September 14, a trucker was airlifted to the hospital in Illinois after his load of concrete slabs penetrated his truck, immobilizing him.
According to Lake and McHenry County Scanner, the trucker was driving a blue flatbed semi-tractor-trailer southbound. When he stopped, the load shifted forward and penetrated the back window of the cab. Local police and firefighters responded at 11:04 a.m. When they arrived on the scene, they were able to remove the driver.
From there, the trucker was flown to a hospital in in Libertyville by a LifeStar medical flight crew.
Lake in the Hills Police Department said the accident is currently under investigation and no citations have been issued.
