A trucker a Omaha, Nebraska just achieved an impressive milestone that deserves praise.
KETV reported that Tim Dean recorded his 5 millionth accident-free mile on August 10. Dean has been driving for Werner for 35 years, which averages out to around 142,000 accident-free miles per year.
“I never would have thought I was going to get 5 million,” Dean told KETV. “I’m not 60 years old yet. And working for a great company like Warner Enterprises, I could see 6 million [in] seven, eight years maybe.”
To congratulate Dean on the milestone, Werner hosted a celebration event at their HQ in Omaha. There, an audience of friends, family, and co-workers applauded Dean as he pulled into the lot.
“Today, we have the pleasure of showcasing what greatness looks like in the daily work of the American professional driver. It’s the accomplishment of waking up every day, working hard and delivering goods that matter, both safely and on time, to those who have entrusted us to do so,” Werner CEO Derek Leathers said. “We commend Tim for his contributions to Werner and the industry as a whole and are incredibly proud of him for his unwavering commitment to safety over the last 35 years. We look forward to Tim’s continued success on the road as a professional driver, one safe mile at a time.”
