Watch below:
The driver, Alexander Evans, was rattled but unharmed, but just a little sore by the accident. Evans told reporters that his route was parallel with the train tracks, and the crossing was down a hill with a limited view.
“I just tried. I made a look as I was going down the hill to swerve, and I didn’t see anything. He was on my left side,” Evans told WISN. He also explained that he’s deaf in his left ear, which explained why he couldn’t hear the horn. “Literally, it was like one long beep, horn from the train, and I put my foot on the gas, kind of like trying. I don’t know how far I’m going to get away from him,” he said.
The accident occurred on Evans’ birthday.
