A runaway semi truck crashed through multiple structures, causing property damage and two injuries.
KSL reported that the accident occurred in Utah on June 2. The truck driver was driving through Garden City when their brakes failed, sending them barreling through traffic. The big rig reportedly zoomed through a light, crashed through multiple garages, and ran into a propane tank. Both the truck driver and their passenger were injured and taken to the hospital. However, no other vehicles or people were involved in the dangerous incident.

Strangely enough, this marks the eighth accident in Garden City involving a semi whose brakes gave out. According to KSL, the first crash happened in 2018. It’s uncertain why so many brakes have failed in the area, but concerning to local citizens and truckers as well. Garden City mayor Mike Leonhardt told KSL that the DOT has listened to their concerns, but isn’t sure what the common cause may be.
