When an Illinois senator saw a trucker in need, he jumped into action and wasted no time to help.
On August 11, State Senator Willie Preston posted a video of himself coming to the aid of an overturned trucker in the south side of Chicago. In the video, Preston instructs the driver to face his back to the windshield for safety. Then, he uses a tool to bash the windshield and allow the trucker to crawl out of the overturned cab.

In the Facebook post, Senator Preston encouraged drivers to find alternate routes to avoid the accident. He also encouraged his followers to step up when they see someone in need.
“Avoid traffic heading west down 79th Street as a major accident has occurred on 79th Kedzie. As a community, when we see someone in distress I encourage us to help, not just record. #unityandprogress”
