I hope this trucker was wearing his brown pants that day…
A dangerously close call was recorded by this trucker’s dashcam and posted in the r/Truckers community on Reddit. The trucker, u/bowtieguy85, was driving eastbound in Idaho when the incident occurred.
In the video, the trucker came around a curve in the highway to see a Chevy truck driving at him head on. The Chevy was riding even with a big rig, giving u/bowtieguy85 very little room to avoid a head-on collision. Both drivers reacted quickly to avoid catastrophe, and swerved in opposite directions. Luckily, the driver was able to barely fit between the Chevy and the semi.
Watch the video below:
Neither vehicle escaped unscathed, though. Despite avoiding a more disastrous head-on collision, the front passenger side of the Chevy clipped the semi and caused some serious damage. In the comments, u/bowtieguy85 explained that since the westbound roads on the right side of the highway were closed, traffic was directed to drive on the left side. When the Chevy driver saw the trucker coming at him, he initially thought the trucker was on the wrong side. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the accident.
