A wrong-way driver is facing charges after causing an accident with an 18-wheeler on the Massachusetts Turnpike. The crash occurred around 2:15 a.m. on October 1, and caused the semi to burst into flames.
According to Boston 25 News, the driver of the wrong-way vehicle suffered some minor injuries. When police responded to the scene, the semi was already up in flames.

It was reported that firefighters cut the truck into pieces in order for it to be removed from the scene. The left two lanes of the Massachusetts Turnpike were closed for most of the day due to the cleanup effort.

Police have not revealed the name of the driver, nor what charges they face.
