Applesauce Apocalypse: Semi Spills 46k Pounds on I-57!
A semi carrying a massive load of applesauce crashed on Interstate 57 in southern Illinois, spilling thousands of pounds across the highway and creating a sticky mess for crews to clean up. WSIL-TV reported the incident.
According to WSIL, the big rig crashed and overturned, releasing about 46,000 pounds of applesauce onto the roadway. Rick’s Towing, which was at the scene, confirmed the quantity spilled. The incident blocked lanes and slowed traffic as crews worked to remove the debris and restore safe passage.
Despite the chaos, there were no injuries reported. Traffic was rerouted and delayed until cleanup crews cleared the roadway and tested the surface for safety.
