A dashcam video making the rounds online shows just how fast a reckless move can turn into a near-disaster on the road. The video was posted by @musikk.chile on Instagram.
The footage comes from her semi driving in the right lane of a two lane highway. Everything appears normal, until things suddenly go sideways in a matter of seconds.
Out of nowhere, a silver Corvette blows past the truck at ludicrous speed. Almost immediately after passing, the car loses control, skids onto the right shoulder, plows over a roadside sign, and then swerves sharply back into the right lane directly in front of the semi.
With no time to brake and nowhere to go, the trucker makes a split-second decision that likely saved a life. To avoid smashing into the Corvette, she steers the rig into the median ditch, riding it out until the truck finally comes to a stop. The move keeps the semi upright and avoided a potentially deadly collision.
After everything settles, the dashcam captures one final moment that’s left viewers shaking their heads. As the truck comes to rest, the silver Corvette can be seen speeding away, leaving the scene without stopping. Despite the chaos and the terrifying close call, neither driver was hurt.

In the caption of the footage, @musikk.chile wrote, “his is me in the semi… The police told me I was in the right . When driving chemicals due to the sloshing and driving @70mph an immediate stop could cause my truck and trailer to tip. The corvette was wrong but I still wanted to try to avoid injuring him and myself so If I end up in a ditch and need to be pulled out it is ok. Cause nothing is more important than a life.. god bless.”
