Trucker Saves Caged Children From Human Traffickers

A heroic trucker in the right place at the right time stepped up to do the right thing, and brought some vile criminals to justice.

HighwayAngel.org reported that a truck driver named Michael was at a rest stop on June 18 when he noticed something not quite right. As he sat in his rig, he saw a white pickup park ahead of him. He watched a woman exit the vehicle and pull a tarp off to reveal cages in the bed of the truck. This immediately alarmed Michael, and only got worse when a few little girls climbed out and were led into the rest stop’s bathroom.

“It’s really scary,” Michael told Highway Angel. He continued to recall the night, and said he sprang into action to quickly call police and sneak up to read the pickup’s license plate. Before long, the woman hurried the girls back into the cage and sped off quickly into the night. Thankfully, police were able to work with Michael and catch up to the truck.

“They got about two or three miles ahead of me . . . Next thing you know, the police pulled them over— cops came out of everywhere,” Michael said. He pulled over with the police vehicles, and gave a statement to the officers.

The girls, estimated to be about three or four years old, were all reported missing and there were even more kids in the pickup’s cages. Thanks to Michael’s bravery, the children were recovered and the traffickers were arrested.
