Dashcam Video of Semi Driving Off Bridge Revealed!
In March, a daring rescue took place above the Ohio River when an 18-wheeler nearly drove off a bridge and dangled above the water. According to WHAS11, the accident happened on the Second Street Bridge in Louisville, Kentucky. The truck ended up dangling off the edge and was suspended with the cab facing head first towards the river.
About 30 first responders quickly arrived to the scene and were able to formulate an extraction plan. A rescuer descended down to the cab, secured the driver, and rappelled back up to the bridge.

Now, two months after the accident, dashcam video has been released showing a POV account of the incident.
Watch below:
The footage is only 16 seconds long, which shows how things on the road can change in the blink of an eye. The clip shows the driver, 26 year old Sydney Thomas, crossing the bridge when a pickup truck swerves into her lane and causes a chain reaction. The pickup collides with the semi, sending it off course and over the rail of the bridge, where it dangles over the river.
In an interview with WHAS, Thomas said “He took my suspension out, which meant it didn’t matter which way I turned my wheel. I lost control, I held onto the wheel. I couldn’t swerve into the other lane.”
The driver of the pickup truck, 33 year old Trevor Branham, faces several counts of wanton endangerment. He was also driving with a suspended license at the time of the accident. Thomas told reporters that she agrees with the charges, and that she doesn’t hold any resentment against the man.
“I can’t hold no hate in my heart. We all make mistakes and me holding a grudge or being angry for the rest of my life at him is going to do nothing for me,” she said.
