Watch below:
In the video, Sheriff Del Garcia said, “What we know right now is that one of our local residents exited on the State Road 26 Exit, and was followed by a semi. The issue was between their two vehicles. Our local resident was on his way home . . . from a fishing trip, from what I understand, was with his family. And the semi followed him off the exit, followed him to his home.”
He added, “There was a verbal altercation that occurred and . . . our local resident had a laser-type [weapon] pointed at him, which he believed to be a weapon, so he fired upon the semi, striking the driver. The driver’s semi went across a couple of cornfields, ended up catching on fire.”
Authorities confirmed the trucker is dead, and the investigation is ongoing.
