Merge Mayhem: Trucker Dodges Disaster
Dashcam footage shows the tense moment an alert truck driver avoided plowing into a stopped car while merging onto I-74 West toward Peoria, Indiana.
In the video, a semi driver is following traffic onto an exit when a black sedan abruptly cuts across lanes, seemingly attempting to make a last-second merge onto the ramp. Just ahead, a white car slams on its brakes and comes to a complete stop. With little room and no time to spare, the trucker manages to slow down and veer onto the shoulder, narrowly avoiding a catastrophic rear-end collision.

Day was going so smooth too, stopped for fuel shortly after killing someone and noticed I have a flat. Day was too good to be true…” said the driver in their video’s caption.
There were no signs of injury or damage, but the footage is a perfect example of how important it is to stay alert behind the wheel.
