Train Obliterates Stuck Truck

This video proves why it’s always important to be alert at railroad crossings.

The clip shows a semi approaching a crossing and getting caught in a situation no driver wants to be in. As the truck moves across the tracks, the crossing arm comes down right between the tractor and the trailer, leaving the rig stuck and unable to clear the crossing. The truck is now sitting directly on the tracks with no easy way out.

At first, the driver casually steps out of the cab and walks back to see what’s going on, trying to figure out how to get free. But when driver spots a train coming down the tracks, he skedaddles. Moments after he gets clear, the train hits the trailer at full speed, completely destroying the truck in a violent impact that sends debris flying. The driver was able to get out of the way before the collision, avoiding what could have been a much worse outcome.

One viewer on the video suggested the driver should have put the rig in reverse to risk damaging the crossing arm instead of letting the truck get plowed into. Some suggested maybe there was another vehicle behind him, to which others countered by saying that damage couldn’t have been worse than the train destroying the truck. What do you think?
